Rolling In Bed

Rolling In Bed

By emily2u | From the Heart | 17 Oct 2021

The chirping birds
Signal a new dawn;
I turn over in bed
As the radio switches on.

It's a day of rest
My body knows it's Sunday,
My mind refuses to wake
It's no work, all play.

I'm entitled to sleep in
And roll a little longer,
A luxury on workdays
Needed for aches that linger.

Sunrays hit my eyelids
Light that's blinding,
Raises the room's heat
Get up, no more hiding.
