Rancher

Rancher

Sitting on a bench,
In this outback ranch,
There’s nothing much here,
No friends near.

Animals roam freely about,
Tend to by my good scout.
All isn’t done in a hurry,
The day goes by without a worry.

In town is my representative,
Keeps the business competitive.
Life here is a return to nature;
Pointless looking into the future.

Chores are done with human energy,
For lack of modern technology.
This uncomplicated joy,
Is only prized by a cowboy.
