In the dark of the night
With crickets singing,
Breaking the silence
And keeping me awake.
I can't sleep anyway
Scared of what's waiting,
Frightening nightmares
Make me scream aloud.
What if they revisit?
What am I to do?
Who am I to call?
Is there even anyone?
Dare I sleep tonight?
2am and still wide awake,
But how long can I last
Before I head to dreamville?
