Looking into the mirror,
I’m a picture of horror.
Old and wrinkly,
By the hour, getting cranky.
Yesterday was my ninetieth
Unrewarding year on Earth.
Wasn’t looking forward to it,
Had nothing special to eat.
Though I’ve six children,
Now that it’s their turn
To care for their mother,
To them, I’m only a stranger.
In my old age,
I’m trapped in a cage,
…….. Penniless,
…….. Loveless.
