At a high school gathering,
From across the hall,
Someone’s on stage singing,
And having a ball.
Dressed as red as a cherry,
Her poise was dignified and proud.
The students, entertained and merry,
Made up quite a crowd.
The place was filled with laughter,
All were focused on the platform.
Life couldn’t be better,
Especially for the girl in top form.
Though she was nervous,
Took pains with her appearance.
To all else, she was oblivious,
It was her first public performance.
