Strolling along,
You picked up a purse.
Didn’t take you long,
To realize it was a curse.
Faced with foul luck,
Not once or twice but daily,
Found it somewhere to tuck,
Did it hastily.
Since then, you’re smarter
About stuff on the ground.
As a person you’re better,
To the hapless, all around.
They could be cursed as well ---
Though you were lucky,
For a while you were in a spell,
But you came out of it quickly.
