Do you remember when you were a young Kid?
Do you remember that any new place that you went to seemed so big, roads were endless in lenght and the whole experience just seemed to last forever?
Now fast forward into your adulthood and think about how fast time is passing by on a day-to-day basis and a yearly basis, and how often you have turned around to reflect and ask yourself, where has the time gone?
In this instance we realize that as we get older we percieve time differently than when we were younger. Mundane daily things that we do that we don't find any joy in just fly by day in and day out without us realizing. You know that feeling when you are on autopilot, going through the same workday motions over and over again.
Don't you wish that you could go back to being a kid again and having everything be so new and foreign, and a single day at the beach feeling like it would last the whole year?
Well you can do something about it!!!
Scientists are saying that in order to slow down time perception in the brain we need to get out of our daily tasks that we have programmed ourselves to keep repetitively doing every single day and ordered to make more money, maintain a job and so on.
They recommend experiencing new things. Putting yourself in foreign environments. What better activity to do that with then traveling, exploring the world and putting yourself out there. Through the exposure of new surroundings, fauna flora, languages and the sheer fact that we are away from our regular 9 to 5 programming the brain starts firing differently and starts taking in and storing way more information.
Basically your perception of time is altered as you experience new surroundings. That's why its so important to have a good work and life balance and try to keep doing and trying new things every month.
Try it out and let me know if it works for you.
