I was recently listening to a podcast on which the economic "expert" said that crypto currency will never work because they can make "As many as they want". Well, you can make as many as you want. That is a fact. This is what most people actually think initially, due to being under the rule of a central authority for so long.
Most people don't even know that that governments have currency laws. Most Americans, at least, don't know alot of things. The reason we don't have "As many as we want" is because the government/banks in their infinite wisdom chose one currency for us, and without their intervention we would have "chaos". Here is what happens when you try to have a competing currency.

Ron Paul proposed the elimination of currency laws when he ran for president. He was right. He said let the market decide.
Enter Bitcoin. Well we have one crypto, i guess we are done now!. Monero, Ether, DAI and all the others showed this isn't the case. How can all these coins possibly work? There are just to many!. Well welcome to the true free market. People actually get to choose. Those choices determine how many currencies are supported. Ron Paul was correct. The proof is right here in crypto land.
Did you know that in the inital days of the United States, gold and silver were money? I don't mean just the ones stamped by the government. A gold coin from another trusted mint/country was acceptable. Why? Because the people of the time trusted gold and silver. It was limited. It took work to bring it out of the ground. People didn't care who is stamped on the gold.
The trust of the currency is all that matters. The good will weed out the bad.........in a free country. Decentralization of power might give us that back someday.
