Fun Faucet Math

So, how long until I can drop 1 Bitcoin from a faucet?

As you may know faucets are free sources of Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin and others, that you can get just by clicking CLAIM buttons every hour (usually). Most faucets will drip (depending on the trade price) around 1 Satoshi (named for the founder of Bitcoin). A Satoshi, or sat, is how Bitcoin and other coins are broken down into smaller units. Similar to the US dollar (and others) being broken down into cents.

However, while 100 cents = $1 USD, the same cannot be said for Cryptocurrency. Let's look at Bitcoin specifically.

1 Bitcoin = 100,000,000 satoshis

This means, to earn 1 Bitcoin from a faucet that drips 1 Satoshi each click you will need to click it 100 million times....

Let's assume you are human and need to sleep and you can only legitimately click the Claim button 8 hours per day (still a daunting task).

8 x 365 = 2,920 sats per year

How long will it take to earn 1 (ONE) Bitcoin?

100,000,000 sats/BTC

100,000,000 ÷ 8 = 12,500,000 days

12,500,000 ÷ 365 = 34,246.575 years

34,000 years to claim 1 Bitcoin!!

If the faucet drips 2 satoshis, the time is cut in half, but still sounds like a timeline out of Frank Herbert's Dune at 17,123 years.

Will you strike it rich from faucets?

Absolutely not, unless you faucet a lesser known altcoin or memecoin which happens to Shiba to the moon afterwards. There are faucets where you can get 30 Shiba, or more of lesser known coins like BitTorrent, Reddcoin, and others.

Some faucets offer more to view ads, complete surveys, and downloading certain apps. These activities can dramatically increase the amount earned, however many of the ads available are SCAMS designed to trick newbies out of their money.

Never believe faucet ads

Never, ever believe an ad which says they can double your Bitcoin in 24 hours. They can only double their OWN Bitcoin in 24 hours by taking yours from the account you give them (presumably, as I have not tested any of these obvious scams).

However, faucets and other offers can be a fun way to gather a few crypto in your spare time. I'm currently testing two very promising faucets which I've earned almost enough to withdrawal my goals and will be posting further on them individually once I have confirmed their processes. Many faucets have not met my standards in the past months and so it seems many are illegitimate and usually attempt to "sell" you an unneeded service to "increase" your faucet output.

A faucet should be free, fun, and easy to withdraw.
