It is said that, when good things start happening to you, the follow one another and you ask yourself where all the goodness were hiding. You begin to wonder why they didn't come as and when you needed them and they are all coming at the same time. Sometimes you feel to have surplus of goodness if there's such a thing. If that could be true, then I certainly believes the opposite holds true too.

The photo above is that of Samuel Owusu, a man I've known since February. He's a Human Resource Manager for a company but he also has some personal business that fetch him extra income. In this day and age, it's advisable to have multiple sources of income so your pocket doesn't run dry. He deals in quiet a lot of things.

On Thursday, 20th of June 2019, I mean just this passed Thursday, he came to Accra to check on some of his businesses in Accra. He stays in Kumasi, Ghana's second major city where he has other business too. On the next day, which was Friday, he got a call that fire had gutted his workplace. There were no casualties, but the fire was enough to halt operations and he needed to get things back in order as soon as possible.

He called a couple of friends who helped him by sending monies to his account which amounted to GHc15,000 or the equivalence of USD3,000. That's quiet a lot of money here in Ghana. He went to the bank to withdraw it on Friday afternoon and as he stepped out of the bank's gates, two guys sitting on a motorcycle snatched the bag that contained the money from him, right in front of the bank.

Before he could get a vehicle to do a chance, the guys were far gone. He reported the matter to the police station and all they could say that's what has been happening lately, but nobody has been caught yet. Africa police...not not not. So far, there seems to be no leads on getting the money, or if the fire was an arson. However, my friend is handling it like a "man". It's not my business or money, but the way I feel now...I can only imagine what I would have done if it was me. I just hope he comes out of this as soon as possible. This is terrible news.
