It's astonishing to see Elon Musk, a native South African, publicly criticizing his home country. While I respect his creativity, I'm skeptical about his speculative claims.
As we know, Musk left South Africa at 18 due to the tumultuous era, and recently tweeted about a alleged genocide of white people in South Africa. It's puzzling, considering he may not fully understand his roots, having left the country at a relatively young age.
Perhaps Musk has insider information or is relying on assumptions? As the saying goes, assumptions can be misleading. I wonder if he's been influenced by extremist rhetoric, such as Malema's infamous "kill the Boers" chant.
It's disheartening to see Musk, who has been unable to donate funds to his native country during times of need, like COVID-19, now joining forces with President Trump to cut trade relations and aid. On the other hand, his innovative decision to reduce Twitter's workforce was a shrewd business move.
Could this new alliance between Musk and Trump benefit both countries? South Africa has an abundance of minerals, while the US possesses the necessary machinery. Could this partnership pave the way for South Africa's independence?
