The EUR/USD currency pair is heading into the new trading week under noticeable selling pressure. As markets reopen, market sentiment is being shaped by two core fundamental factors, ongoing interest rate speculation around the US federal reserve, and upcoming macroeconomic growth indicators across the eurozone.
Market participants remain focused on the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy stance. With US interest rates sitting in the 3.50% to 3.75% range, debates continue over whether the central bank will maintain its pause or keep a hawkish stance to address persistent inflation. This ongoing strength in the US Dollar Index (DXY) has kept the Euro under steady pressure from the start of the week.

Simultaneously, traders are preparing for critical macroeconomic releases from europe, including eurozone GDP figures and german inflation reports. These data points will offer fresh insights into the health of the european economy and provide direction for european central bank (ECB) policy expectations.

From a technical perspective, the daily chart shows EUR/USD trading near the 1.1369 level. The pair recently faced rejection at the upper resistance zone around 1.1578 and continues to trade below its 50 day simple moving Average. This structure indicates that sellers currently maintain broader market control. A sustained breakdown below current daily support could open the path toward lower technical zones near 1.0984.

On the 1 hour timeframe, price action reflects a sharp decline from the 1.1430 level down to 1.1370, followed by tight sideways consolidation. The lack of an immediate bullish reaction at these lower levels suggests that buying momentum remains limited in the short term.
Technical indicators further align with this market bias. Momentum indicators such as the RSI, MACD, and stochastic reflect ongoing bearish momentum. While select oscillators are approaching oversold territory, directional trend tools like the ADX indicate that the prevailing downward movement retains structural strength.

My Opinion
Looking at the broader picture combining interest rate expectations at the open with daily chart developments EUR/USD remains structurally tilted to the downside. From an analytical perspective, monitoring potential pullbacks toward near term resistance levels could offer clearer context for continuation scenarios toward the 1.0980 support region.
However, given the high impact nature of upcoming central bank developments and european economic releases, heightened volatility should be expected. Proper risk management, clear position sizing, and patience remain essential when navigating these market conditions.
