I was watching a movie. An action thriller/whodunit. Not particularly sophisticated, but nice enough, and well written.
I was trying to work out who the bad guy was, and the moment one of the characters was filmed picking up her phone, a foldable Samsung, I knew immediately that was the killer or, in this case, the instigator.

The thing is, there's this rumour that's been around for years: the bad guy in a movie won't use Apple products because Apple doesn't want that to happen.
I don't remember when I first heard or read about it, but then I started paying attention, and I noticed that this very often true.
Every time I watch a movie or a TV show, I pay attention to a lot of things, including what kind of tech the characters are using.
And every time I see somebody using something that isn't Apple, for example an Android phone or a Windows notebook, I immediately assume that's the bad guy, or somehow related to the bad guy.
And the truth is, that's almost always the case. I say almost always, because I'm sure it can't be 100 percent of the time, but I can't remember one instance where that's not true.

Of course, the good guys might be using Android too, it depends on commercial partnerships, budget and so on.
But the bad guys almost always will.
Apple denies it, of course, and I'm sure they can't have 100 percent control over this. But I'm equally sure they can, 99 times out of 100, steer things and make sure that's the result with influence, money, and so on.
So next time you're watching a movie and trying to work out who the bud guy/killer is, it's probably not the Apple guy.
