My DeFi Portfolio - Part #2: EVM Chains

By Bfab | Good vibes | 13 Jan 2023

Last time I wrote about my DeFi portfolio, I focused on Ethereum & L2s. This time, I will talk about EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible chains:

  • Polygon (MATIC): I invested in liquidity pools on Uniswap, e.g., MATIC/AAVE, since I am bullish on both tokens and the pool offers a high APY
  • Avalanche (AVAX): I lent my AVAX on Benqi and borrowed USD, swapped it into GLP on GMX.io to earn AVAX (reinjected into Benqi) and GMX
  • Moonbeam (GLMR): I earn interest through liquidity pools GLMR/LDO on Beefy and xcDOT/DOT on Curve
  • Aurora (AURORA): I earn interests by lending stNEAR (staked NEAR) on Aurigami lending protocol

However, although I like using Polygon, Moonbeam and Aurora (which is an EVM compatible chain built on top of NEAR Protocol blockchain), most of my non-Etherereum assets are on Avalanche blockchain, which is by far the most decentralized blockchain among the four ones above.

You may wonder how to follow your assets when there are spread out on all these chains... And you may think that centralized exchanges like Binance allow to follow more easily your funds. Well, it is a big mistake, since there are easy-to-use portfolio managers allowing to see all your assets in one shot even when they are on decentralized self-custody wallets. One of them is Nansen.ai. You can see below my portfolio token and protocol allocation:

AVAX (or WAVAX, like Wrapped AVAX above) is my largest token allocation after Ethereum (ETH), since I believe in the potential of Avalanche.

Benqi (the lending protocol on Avalanche) is my largest DeFi protocol allocation after Velodrome Finance (on Ethereum) since I trust this protocol.

Regarding performance, the total value of my portfolio has increased by 10% for the last 7 days, which is a decent performance vs. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) which are the two dotted lines above.

Next time I will give more information about my DeFi portfolio on non-EVM chains.
