If you've been actively participating in the Publish0x community, you may have accumulated SPOT tokens as rewards for your contributions. Now, it's time to unlock the full potential of your earnings. In this guide, I'll walk you through the process of swapping SPOT to ETH using Matcha/0x, minimizing gas fees to around $5, and bridging your ETH to Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon, where transaction costs are significantly lower.
Step 1: Swapping SPOT to ETH using Matcha/0x
- Sign in to your Publish0x account and navigate to your SPOT wallet.
- Ensure you have enough SPOT tokens available... I recommend to withdraw at least $35 to $40.
- Withdraw SPOT to your Ethereum address 0x...
- Head over to Matcha (matcha.xyz), a decentralized exchange powered by 0x, which offers competitive gas fees and liquidity.
- Connect your Ethereum wallet to Matcha by clicking on the "Connect Wallet" button and selecting your preferred wallet provider - e.g., MetaMask.
- Once connected, select "Swap" on the Matcha interface and input the amount of SPOT you wish to convert to ETH.
- Review the transaction details, including the estimated gas fees, and confirm the swap. Note that the gas fees might vary depending on network congestion.
Step 2: Bridging ETH to Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon
With your newly acquired ETH, it's time to transfer it to an Ethereum layer-2 or sidechain like Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon to enjoy significantly lower gas fees.
- Open your Ethereum wallet, such as MetaMask, and ensure you have the required ETH balance to cover the gas fees.
- Visit jumper.exchange, and connect your Ethereum wallet.
- Choose your destination chain and check the gas fees - it will cost you $4 to $5 to bridge ETH to Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon.
- Follow the instructions provided on the bridge interface to initiate the bridging process.
- Specify the amount of ETH you want to bridge from Ethereum to Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon.
At the end of the process, you will have spent totally around $10 in gas fees to convert SPOT to ETH, and bridge ETH to an Ethereum layer-2 or sidechain where you can trade with low gas fees, or invest into DeFi.
