Is Highlighting Managers of Crypto Exchanges a Good Thing?

I recently read an article about Binance's Compliance Officer for Bahrain. It was interesting to learn about his background and experience in the financial industry. However, it also made me think about the role of managers in the crypto space.

Binance is not alone in its decision to highlight its managers. Many other crypto exchanges have also done the same. This is likely due to the fact that the crypto industry is still relatively new and investors are looking for ways to assess the credibility of different exchanges. Highlighting managers is one way to do this.

However, I am not sure that this is a good thing. One of the reasons why people are attracted to crypto is because it is a trustless system. We don't have to trust any one person or institution. We can simply trust the code.

By highlighting managers, crypto exchanges are essentially asking us to trust them again. This is a step back in the wrong direction. We should be moving towards a more decentralized system, not a more centralized one.

In addition, highlighting managers can create a culture of celebrity worship. This can be dangerous because it can lead to people making investment decisions based on emotion rather than logic.

I believe that crypto exchanges should focus on building trustless systems rather than highlighting their managers. This is the only way to truly realize the potential of crypto.

So, is it good to highlight managers of crypto exchanges?

I don't think so. I think it is a step back in the wrong direction. We should be moving towards a more decentralized system, not a more centralized one.
