Touch some grass

It's that time of the year when we touch some grass and do something nice for ourselves.

Last time I ordered a small batch of books -

Rich Dad Poor Dad (really bad book, I still can't believe how this made the #1 financial bestseller)

The Daily Stoic (I don't regret buying this one, a quality book with 365 Stoic philosophers quotes and text explanations below those quotes)

Wealth Of Nations (this was just 6 dollars but I didn't read a single page, it's a fat economics book, it will wait for another day)

This time I spent 270 dollars on books. Best ever two hundred and seventy spent dollars. I had so much fun "curating" the list for the last week or two, but today I finally made the order. I should have done it sooner because the books will arrive in around 25 days but it is how it is! :-)

First one on the list:

"The Demon-Haunted World" by Carl Sagan. I don't know a lot about this bro but he seems interesting so I got this one.

"Think And Grow Rich" - some kind of an OG financial book from 1937.

"Black Swan" - I heard a lot about this book so finally let's read it

"Food of the gods" by Terence Mckenna - This book list was well over 400$ so I had to throw some books out. I wanted to order like 3 books from this bro but I settled at the end for this one

"Travels into Dalmatia" - a "travelogue" (I just learned that word from Google) aka a travel journal from some bro who traveled Croatia, more specifically Dalmatia, in 1774. This will be an interesting read for sure

"House of Leaves" - this is the only hard cover book from this list that I bought. I don't know a lot about this book because I didn't want to spoil anything, but supposedly its some "crazy" book with hidden notes, you must rotate the book, go backwards, and stuff like that. I want to see if it's worth the hype

"The Idiot" - This is a fitting book for me. It was just something like 5 dollars. This is the brain repairer

These are the two "movie" books I settled for. There was a lot more on this list but I somehow decided for these two.

What can I say, while revisiting this I didn't know whether I should watch the movies first or read the book. It was ages since I last saw Godfather.

"Mutiny on the Bounty" - one of the best movies I saw, the version with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins. Inspired by true events, I recommend this movie to everyone who didn't watch it. It's a classic. And has an amazing soundtrack by Vangelis

This one popped up on the recommendations, another financial classic, was just 6 dollars so why not.

This book brutally reminds me of one amazing book that I've read not so long ago - "A brief history of MANkind" by Cyril Aydon. Even the book cover looks similar to the croatian version that I've read lmao. I don't know a lot about this bro Harari, he was recently in Croatia and was charging something like 400$ tickets to his 3 hours conference. Let's try seeing if the hype is worth it with this book

This was just something like 5$, two books in one. Besides the Stoics, I didn't read any philosophers, I want to see if my brain can handle this uber-philosopher Nietzsche

This was just 6$ so... I never read many "travel" books (or "travelogues") but I think I will like it

"The Selfish Gene" - I saw this book being mentioned on youtube a lot so... why not

"Island" by Aldous Huxley - I wanted to actually start first with "Brave New World", but a couple of days ago I was discussing these books with a colleague, and when I mentioned Huxley he persuaded me to get this one instead.

These 3 books are a recommendation from one of the biggest marketing experts in my country, so yeah, these are the ones that actually made me start this "small" order. There were even some more but they were either unavailable or had a "50%" delivery rate lol.

I'm still hyped but it will probably be over a month until the books arrive so...

Touch grass and stack sats.

Thanks for reading, peace
