8. The PRO Version Lie: Paying More to Withdraw My Own ETH

By this point in the scam, I had already invested 1.87 ETH - a significant amount of money. I believed I was finally at the point where I could withdraw my “profits” and reclaim control over my funds.

Instead, I was met with a cruel twist: the PRO version. It was presented as the final key to unlocking everything, but it was nothing more than another layer of deception - a clever lie designed to take even more from me.

The Promise of Withdrawal

After the MEV Bot had supposedly been “upgraded” and processed several transactions, I reached out to the Telegram support team, ready to withdraw my earnings. Their response was swift and reassuring:

“Congratulations! Your funds are ready for withdrawal. To unlock withdrawals, you need to upgrade to the PRO version of the bot. The cost is only 0.45 ETH.”

At first, I was confused. Why would I need an upgrade to withdraw funds? Shouldn’t the bot be fully functional already?

The scammers anticipated my doubts and were ready with answers:

  • “The PRO version enables withdrawals and unlocks advanced features.”
  • “Upgrading ensures smooth processing of your transactions.”
  • “This is a one-time payment. Once you upgrade, you can withdraw your earnings immediately.”

They made it sound like a small, logical step - just one last hurdle to reach the finish line.

Why I Believed Them

By this stage, I had already sunk 1.87 ETH into the scam. Walking away now felt impossible. I had convinced myself that I was on the verge of success:

  • I had already seen small “profits” appear in my wallet.
  • The scammers had been consistently responsive and professional.
  • The Telegram group was still active, with fake users posting about their withdrawals and upgrades.

The thought of losing everything I had already invested was unbearable. I told myself:

“It’s just 0.45 ETH more. Once I pay this, I’ll get my funds back.”

With that hope driving me, I sent the additional 0.45 ETH, bringing my total investment to 2.32 ETH.

The Illusion of Progress

After upgrading to the so-called PRO version, I expected immediate access to my funds. I messaged the support team, eager to withdraw my earnings.

Their response?

“Your withdrawal request is being processed. We are preparing a new dashboard to make managing your funds even easier. The dashboard will go live by October 2024.”

It was another lie, but at the time, I believed them. They praised my patience and promised that my profits were secure. Their messages were filled with phrases like:

  • “Your funds are safe on the blockchain.”
  • “Just a little more patience and everything will be resolved.”
  • “The dashboard will be a game-changer for users like you.”

Their reassurances gave me false hope. I wanted to believe that the dashboard would solve everything and that my money would soon be within reach.

The True Nature of the PRO Version

The PRO version was never about enabling withdrawals. It was nothing more than another excuse to take my money. Here’s how they manipulated me:

  • Exploiting My Investment: I had already invested heavily, which made me reluctant to stop. They used my own decisions against me.
  • Creating False Urgency: By framing the PRO version as a “final step,” they pushed me to act quickly.
  • Adding Fake Value: The term “PRO version” made it sound like a premium upgrade, masking the reality that it was just another demand for funds.

In truth, the scammers didn’t need a PRO version to take my money - they already had full control of the smart contract. They simply needed a way to extract more ETH before I realized the truth.

The Breaking Point

When October 2024 arrived, the promised dashboard never materialized. I messaged the Telegram support team, asking for updates. Their responses became vague:

  • “The dashboard is still under development.”
  • “We’re facing minor technical delays. Please be patient.”

Soon after, they stopped replying altogether. My messages went unanswered and the group’s activity slowed down. It was at that moment that I realized:

  • There was no PRO version.
  • There was no dashboard.
  • There was never any intention to let me withdraw my ETH.

I had been scammed - again.

The Emotional Toll

This stage of the scam hit me the hardest. I had been strung along for months, clinging to false hope while watching my funds vanish. The scammers had manipulated me masterfully, turning every decision I made into a weapon against me.

The PRO version lie was particularly devastating because it preyed on my desperation. I was willing to believe anything if it meant recovering my losses. Instead, I was pushed further into the abyss, left with nothing but regret and self-doubt.

Lessons Learned

The PRO version lie taught me a painful but valuable lesson: scammers will always find new ways to demand more. Their tactics are designed to keep you hooked, hopeful and compliant.

Here’s what I learned:

  • Beware of “Final Steps”: Scammers often frame new demands as the last requirement to recover your funds. Don’t fall for it.
  • Question Every Request: If someone asks for more money after your initial investment, stop and reassess.
  • Promises Mean Nothing Without Proof: Never trust claims about upgrades, dashboards or withdrawals without concrete evidence.
  • Cut Your Losses: The longer you stay invested, the more you lose. Know when to walk away.

The Bigger Picture

The PRO version wasn’t just a lie - it was a tactic to bleed me dry. By breaking the scam into phases and introducing new demands, the scammers kept me trapped in a cycle of hope and loss.

Looking back, I realize how carefully they planned every step:

  • First, they built my trust through small profits.
  • Then, they used my growing investment to manipulate me into paying more.
  • Finally, they introduced fake upgrades and delays to buy time while they drained my funds.

The Next Phase

After the PRO version lie, I was left with nothing - no dashboard, no profits and no answers. But the scammers weren’t done yet. What followed was the promise of a dashboard that never came - one final lie in their elaborate scheme.
