Climate Change and Feeding the World

Today I read a report that two billionaires have pledged 300 million Euros to rebuild Notre-Dame Cathedral in less than 6 hours after its destruction. Some people commented on Social Media about how this proves there is enough money to end homelessness and hunger. Yes, there are many resources in the world at this point, that we can use to feed and house everyone on the planet. The problem is Politicians blocking aid, Tyrants and Despots weaponizing starvation to subdue their enemies. These self-same despots and tyrants also destroy dwellings and infrastructure to suppress the people.

These actions have been going on since the beginning of time. In Medieval Europe and many parts of Africa today, rulers kept the food supply limited so the peasants would not have the strength to fight their mercenaries. Landowners would regularly burn the huts of the peasants on their land if the harvests were low. It is where we get the term "Your fired."

Another major issue many people are talking about is Climate Change. Humans have had a drastic impact on the Environment. These changes are not up for debate. What is up for debate is what actions have had the most impact and what to do about them. The surprising thing is the answer to both questions is the same. We have deforested many parts of the world; leaving a tiny percentage of old growth forest in the Northern Hemisphere. The Amazon basin is disappearing at an alarming rate to make room for agriculture that is detrimental to the environment. The industrial revolution has polluted many parts of the world. I doubt people will want to go back to the times before the revolution. We are too addicted to our luxuries.

Droughts cause famines in Africa. Much of this is due to human actions. Not driving CO2 emitting SUV's but cutting down all of the trees for firewood and building of villages. When an area is deforested the weather patterns change. The number of Government programs during the Dustbowl planted trees to reverse the actions of humans deforesting and plowing up all of the grasslands was successful. These programs planted millions of trees as windbreaks. The leaves were used as compost to revitalize the fields. The trees brought in rain clouds. The trees were more cooling than the land and caused condensation on the leaves this evaporated into the atmosphere condensing into rain clouds. The cycle of droughts diminished.

If the Local Nation States, the UN, and other Non-Government Organizations did the same thing in Africa, this would help change the drought cycles on that continent. Reforesting of an area brings back wildlife and biodiversity.

A significant planting is underway in India. There are often reports of a single person or small group of people that plant a large number of trees and the effect it has on the region. This simple method has been used in many countries over many years to reverse adverse human actions on the ecology.

The use of Dr. Wilhelm Reich's Cloudbusters has also helped the environment. Archaic laws in different countries prohibit many of these types of technologies. With these cloudbusters, rehabilitation of an area can happen in a short amount of time; this and adding of compost into the soil and nitrogen-fixing plants will speed up the recovery of the region.

Recovery efforts are vital to making Africa self-sufficient. Letting experience farmers manage the lands as was done in Rhodesia after the repeal of the land confiscation. During the Confiscation period, Rhodesia went from a food exporter to a food importer. After the land was returned to the original farmers, the country started to feed itself and is on track to be a significant exporter to other sub-Saharan nations.

Experienced farmers with specific knowledge in how to manage the land in the harsh climates of the region are necessary to produce the food for the peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa. It is true that land management techniques of Northern America or South America with heavy rains will not work on the African Continent. The farm families who have cleared the land and learned the hard lessons of how to care for it must be allowed to remain and to produce food for the whole region.

The Free-Market system has proven itself countless times to be the best system to care for the people. Stop repressive laws to hold one group down or artificially elevate another group. The Free-Market gives everyone an even shot at the beginning. It guarantees an unequal ending due to everyone is different with different talents. Some people excel in physical activities while others are more adept at cerebral events. There are many examples of traditionally disadvantaged persons creating fortunes for themselves; while there is an equal number of people who were born into privileged lives becoming destitute.

When we look at "For Us, By Us" FUBU label it was started by Daymond John in Queens, NY in the 90's. He saw an opportunity for the community and worked hard to make his new company a success. People find success in the Free-Market; it produces unlimited potential and resources. Some technologies are in their infancy waiting for the governments to get out of the way so they can thrive and provide water, food, and housing for everyone on planet Earth.
