first blog post
Well this is officially not what I thought I'd spend my time doing...not that its a bad thing. I just never expected to be living my childhood dream of being a writer so soon! Thank you for indulging me. Cheers to you!
I created this blog to discuss crypto and why it makes me tick. Why I think it's so valuable to us as a society and hopefully introduce some new aspects of cryptocurrency the users here are not already familiar with.
first crypto encounter
I hate to be another but my first cryptocurrency encounter was with Bitcoin back in 2009 as I was spending my time playing Runescape on my family's old desktop. Alas, if only I had given into to those adverts and shortlinks back then...I'm sure they were even worse than the ones today...But having not bought any crypto when the digital gold was most readily available I kept the loosest possible tabs. just enough to know it began sky rocketing early '17. I bought in with a small investment that has maintained albeit trimmed with the astronomical numbers btc is doing now.
I admit my real usage only started with faucets as a way to "get rich quick" with no idea how any cryptocurrency outside bitcoin and maybe ethereum's protocols worked.
Yes I still do faucets. And no. I am not an idiot. However my perspective on faucets has most certainly changed.
faucets and the cryptocommunity
Notice the word cryptocommunity for a second. Did I just make that up? Because it certainly feels like I just did.
Community is something that should come naturally for a network of billions and billions of transactions and yet I feel as though it is lacking. Cryptocurrency offers something unique in that it can connect people across the planet financially and have their impact felt in a real way. Faucets may not ever make anyone rich but it does give access to the potential of a much wider and equitable financial system.
We can make a difference by participating in the small cryptogames and faucets that the web has to offer because you know what? They've improved drastically in my time with them and will only continue to do so with time and investment. Sites like Rollercoin or Cryptomininggame or Cryptokitties Final AutoFaucet, sorare or whatever else you may be into, these sites are carrying a heavy load that more sites will hopefully one day carry. Thus it feels my duty to help these sites spread their name and grow.
Partially, I'll admit because I can profit. NGL.
But mostly, because I have seen them spend enough time tweaking their pages to know how much work is going into creating a platform for cryptocurrencies on the web that isn't illicit drugs or gambling. That's a huge responsibility and I'd feel guilty not doing something to help them out!
community goals and outreach
I want this blog to be a beacon of hope for the cryptoworld that the internet is growing with legitimate sites that are legitimate fun and can build a better, more globally connected world for the future. I ask that all who visit the blog share their ideas, experiences, and suggestions to build a better crypto-scape. Also feel free to share new sites on here I may not have heard of! I'm always down to check out new sites to see if they're legit.
Feel free to support me along the way but this blog is about creation and hopefully many exciting things to come for everyone!
