I never really saw the point of stable coins when I was new to crypto (implying I'm anything but a beginner right now), but I think I get it now. I figured crypto was like an investment so why spend $1 to gain $1?
Times like now I can see why someone would want a coin that's more stable. While some people would love the "intelligent investor" mentality of when stocks are lower then see it as a sale and buy more of them, but if it's someone that doesn't have faith in a particular coin are receiving it then they might prefer something like Dai.
We all have our favorite coins that we would like to succeed, but everyone might not share that same faith you have. I even find myself right now as I see all my coins minus Dai go down drastically to quickly convert them to a stable coin to stop losses. The only thing is then it would truly be a loss at that point.
In the case that you are someone that sends coins to people in foreign countries that don't have bank accounts, it would be nice to have the security that in the time you send the coin and they receive and use the currency the value stays the same.
