The road

The road

one day you grew up
I don't remember exactly when that day was
but I know you brought a new laugh
and new eyes
and a new voice
and I was afraid of not knowing how to laugh
not knowing how to look
nor hear
because you were and were not
you were full of bridges and birds
and it was no longer so easy to sit next to you
side and that it would be enough to make you happy,
you grew up and the silence was in vain
the word, the bends of light and shadow of the
landscape, and I was afraid
fear! fear! of not reaching you
not knowing how to walk
of not knowing knowing or ignoring or speaking.
look
let me be a folding stool
that's all
a small, foldable beach stool
let me just be close
accompany you,
and that you know that when the road is more
long or less simple than it seems
there i am
in person if i live
in metaphor of sun if it were already shadow
sit down to rest
to speak
to whatever you want.
I was also growing up a bit.
we are almost tied, Morella.
one day you grew up and life happened,
I do not ask you for anything, I demand nothing of you,
I just want to be your folding stool
stay on earth
all the air and water and time
we are.
