A man

reminded me of another
the way of sitting
with a certain lean back
crossed legs and some nonchalance
all over the body
although I never saw him reading the newspaper in the sun
It was the pose that he would have assumed
naturally
and also hair and beard trimming
however when getting up
his stature marked a change
and the way he set the straw hat
and he started walking through the sand
It was no longer the one I saw minutes before
I saw him walk away with his wife of years
a stable and affluent couple
but the next day
when they occupied the same place in the spa
sitting again reading the newspaper
it was again
the one he had in his memory.
