Human beings have a natural inclination to seek the divine, it is present in our nature.
Throughout the history of humanity, human beings have had many religions, I think that in some way the total number of them would be uncountable. However, spirituality is only one, but sometimes also expressed in different ways.
So these are some differences:
Religion is more of a form of order, it is a discipline. Of course, this is important for community life and good coexistence, but in the end we do things well for a mandate. In spirituality the key is the search and the encounter of a sensation of conscience that helps us to act well according to the present moment.
Another important difference is that religion keeps attention outside of us, presents us with someone else's path. In a spiritual experience we may well have guides, we are and we build our own path.
Having written all this, I must also write that religion and spirituality are not necessarily opposite experiences. Sometimes a religious discipline can help us connect with our spirituality. Sometimes we need religiosity and sometimes deeper spirituality. So we can also decide with conscience.
Religions are also a form of historical and cultural expression, which is why they are important to maintain our collective identities. Spirituality is recognizing as equal someone who is experiencing a different religious experience than ours. I like to think that spirituality in this sense is being together in diversity.
So if you have already had a religious experience now you can delve deeper into yourself and connect with yourself to find your essence and your own spirituality.
After all we are spiritual beings having a human experience, encourage yourself to search for your spirituality.
The way is in you.
