– Portuguese? – asks Sandra. – Portuguese coffee?
– Yes, my son brings it to me. Do you like it? – says Mrs. Puri.
– I've never tried it – answers Sandra. – Can I have some in a cup, with milk, please?
– Yes, of course – answers Mrs. Puri. – And you? – she asks referring to Olivia.
– A colacao, please – answers Olivia.
Erika gets excited and takes a chocolate bar from the box looking at Sandra, as if she wanted to say something. Sandra shrugs her shoulders, she doesn't know what she wants to say. What's going on?
In less than five minutes Mrs. Puri appears with the tray. She also has some cookies. Sandra is amazed. In the end Erika was right. How much does this woman think they eat? It would be better if she took something before she says anything, just in case.
Mrs. Puri is a very spontaneous woman and a bit of a gossip. She asks about everything and everyone. For more than an hour she talks to Erika about her parents, work, studies… Sandra and Olivia participate in what they can, although they both prefer not to talk much. Portuguese coffee is good, Sandra likes it. But it has a strange taste. Maybe because she has never tried it before, it tastes that way to her.
Finally, the three girls say goodbye to Mrs. Puri and go home. Sandra starts to feel a bit sick, she is very hot and her head is starting to hurt, but she doesn't say anything.
– What were you thinking, Sandra? – asks Erika when the three girls are alone.
– How? Why? Hey, if you mean what you wanted to tell me with your look, I didn't understand anything, can you explain it to me now?
