What is Liberalism?

By Liberalism | Easy politics | 14 Jan 2021

Liberalism is a political philosophy. One of the thoughts that characterize this philosophy is to consider that all people have the same individual rights, and we all have the right that no one interferes violently with our vital projects

In order to better understand what liberalism defends, we will talk about the 10 principles it defends:

  • Principle 1: All people are subjects of law.
  • Principle 2: All people have the same rights.
  • Principle 3: The main right of people is freedom.
  • Principle 4: People have the right to enjoy the assets they have peacefully acquired.
  • Principle 5: People are obliged not to interfere in the plans of others.
  • Principle 6: Whoever violates the freedoms of other people, must repair the damage.
  • Principle 7: People have the right to associate with other people.
  • Principle 8: People can also associate for economic purposes.
  • Principle 9: The government must protect individual rights
  • Principle 10: Liberalism is global, since everyone has the above rights.

Thanks to these 10 principles we can structure the coexistence and cooperation of people in such a way that each one uses them depending on their vital projects. We are all free to pursue our dreams without harming others and cooperating in good faith with whoever we wish.
