Do you want to mine ETH on a 4GB graphics card? How about Bitcoin on a CPU? There once was a time when these were the standard methods to obtain these coin. Now with the Proof of Stake consensus becoming more common some of the newer coins such as ADA are not mineable at all. What if I told you there is a way to obtain more than a few of different "unmineable" coins with the vast majority of hardware commonly available to all PC users. Sure you could use NiceHash to get paid in Bitcoin for your hash power, but what if you really want to be paid in a Proof of Stake coin or use your own miner software?
What I'm going to describe won't allow you to turn back the clock and natively mine the coins you want. However it will allow you to do the next best thing. Mine whatever your hardware is capable of and be paid in the coin you really want.
Unmineable.com is the answer to this problem. Over at Unmineable you can join a pool for Ethash (ETH), Etchash (ETC), RandomX (XMR) or Kawpow (RVN) algorithms and get paid out in one of (at the the time of writing this) 56 different coins. They will also allow you to combine different algorithms into your selected payout asset, so you can have the Monero your Ether rig is mining contribute to your chosen payout such as BTC, DOGE, SHIBA INU, BNB, ADA etc. ETH+XMR=DOGE Okay enough of the sales pitch, you want in?
Go over to https://unmineable.com/coins
Select the coin of your choice (For this example I'll be using DOGE on the Dogecoin Network)
*** WARNING!!! PAY ATTENTION TO THE TAGS UNDER THE COIN***
If you send your payout to the wrong blockchain it will be lost forever.
Select your mining algorithm (XMR in this case)
Point your favorite miners configuration file to the server address provided. The server address by default is the auto global server, clicking the link below it shows the manual selected servers list if you prefer to use those. They also provide an alternative stratum or port if you choose to use that.
Enter your chosen payment asset (DOGE in this case) as shown followed by a colon and your wallets receive address, dot the name you would like to show on your unmineable dashboard. You can also append a referral code by adding a hashtag/pound symbol and the code.
Example below
DOGE:WalletAddress.Name#N8HT-W1M2
I hope this was informative and helps you get a jump start on getting involved in Proof of Stake coins, DEFI and HODL'ing coins you cannot natively mine without needing to send your earnings to an exchange costing you more fees and reduce your possible tax implications.
