If you've started investing in the last three years, you've taken your first steps in this universe like Bob Gibson did with baseball.
Robert Gibson was born on November 9, 1935 in Omaha, Omaha, United States.
Bob, as he was known, was born in the midst of the popularization of the sport in the country, driven by the first transmission of a game of the modality on television, in 1939.
Like many teenagers of the time, he struggled to play baseball professionally, and on April 15, 1959, he made his debut for a major league team.
His team, the Saint Louis Cardinals, lost to the famous Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0 when Bob Gibson was called from the bench.
Anyway, he'd make his long-awaited debut.
Gibson was a pitcher, the athlete who throws the ball to prevent the batter from hitting it. If you manage to do that three times (so-called strikes), you eliminate the batter in question.
And what's the worst thing that can happen to a pitcher?
Give up a home run, that throw in which the ball is hit off the field, and the batter can score points for his team.
And that's exactly what happened to Gibson.
On the first pitch, his opponent managed to hit the ball off the field.
That humiliation only happened to 65 other pitchers in U.S. professional baseball history. Detail: in a league established in 1876 and which, since 1998, has more than 2,400 games per season.
Only the vexation didn't stop there. At the next inning (as if it were a "time"), Bob Gibson gave up another home run.
And in the two games that followed, their performance did not take a leap forward in quality. He gave up several points and led his team to defeats, having to swallow the bench for a few weeks.
It's hard to imagine a premiere worse than Gibson's, isn't it?
Let's skip to 1981.
That year, Bob Gibson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, an entity created to honor the sport's greats, being considered the most feared pitcher in history. In his career, he was twice named World Series Player of the Year (as the league final is called), as well as winning championships with the Cardinals and other individual titles.
But then what happened between 1959 and 1981?
Nothing in particular.
Just that Bob Gibson kept working, training and practicing, as he always did.
This story reminds me a lot of who has started investing in the last few years and who has very probably been collecting unsatisfactory returns in the crypto market — not to say squalid.
Just like Gibson's debut, for many novices it also didn't seem encouraging at all the start of the crypto-asset investor journey.
Your crypto investment portfolio, funds, stocks, and even international investments, if it's not falling, at best it's stable.
In fact, the last few years have not been easy.
Given this, what to do with the investments, which so far has been suffering and is below the peak of Bitcoin?
Well, if you follow a well-defined strategy, a good structural allocation, there's nothing else you can do - except, of course, continue with regular injections and stick with the strategy.
It seems simple, but many people do not understand one thing: Any investment, whether in crypto or even Actions of good companies, can be devalued at certain times.
And the fact that they have depreciated does not mean that they are bad investments, but that they may have been affected by a bad moment in the economy and/or politics of a country, a determined region or even a global one.
The simple decision to continue investing, make your regular investments and stay firm with a good investment allocation will bring you good results in the future.
It's hard to stay in the game after a debut or a season as bad as each of the last few years. But if you really keep investing the right way, the Hall of Fame is right there.
