Something Forgotten
It was a scorching afternoon. My mother had urgent errands to run, so I was all alone at home. She asked me to buy dinner for the whole family. I was as forgetful as a goldfish, so I wrote her instructions down on my planner.
Just then, I received a message from my friends. They invited me to team up with them and join an online game. What a great idea! A broad grin stretched across my face as I hurried to switch on my laptop.
Oh, the game was so fun! I had a whale of a time carrying my team. Before I knew it, the entire afternoon had passed. I realised belatedly that I had forgotten to buy dinner!
I bolted out of my house and reached the nearby coffee shop. To my dismay, I saw that the queues for all the stalls were very long. I had no choice but to join the queue for the chicken rice stall.
In the end, I came home, only to see my family staring at me. They were livid. Pangs of guilt stabbed me as I said sorry to them. I promised them never to forget my mother’s instructions again.
