Thank you for your patience and support. This is the last opinion matching exercise I have to churn out for my students this long weekend. Can’t wait to write crypto-related articles.

I think it’s so awesome that my school organised an outdoor camp for all Year 2 students! It was great to bond with my classmates and teachers outside the classroom. I saw a different side of them. Some of my more reserved classmates, the ones who hardly talked in class, shone like stars. They were adept at tent pitching and outdoor cooking. In particular, their food was so yummy! I hope that there would be more opportunities for us to bond outside the classroom in future.

Initially, I wasn’t keen on the outdoor camp. My teacher told us that we would not be able to shower for one night. That sounded gross. But I decided to go for the camp with an open mind. We immersed ourselves in the elements, doing all sorts of fun things. We forwent showering on the first night. Instead, we had a powder bath, which bonded us together because we told one another to just ignore the discomfort. I now think that every camp should come with some ‘suffering’!

Actually, the no-showering part did not faze me in the least. What really bothered me was that I could not use my handphone during the camp. How was I supposed to keep up with the news and connect with all my friends?! True enough, I didn’t really have fun throughout the camp because I was constantly thinking about my phone. I missed it so much! Yes, I know that a digital detox is good for the soul but going for two days without my phone was just insane.

What many people do not know about me is that I’m a nature lover. In fact, my parents used to sign me up for activities with The Forest School. So, I was excited about the outdoor camp. It exceeded my wildest expectations as I didn’t think that we would spend so much time with Mother Nature. But, we got to explore places like Chek Jawa, so we had a better understanding of marine habitats. I think this camp has boosted my appreciation of nature. Nature is beautiful.
