I spent today analysing the oral questions from 2019-2024. Full questions dating from 2016-2024 available here: https://diaperfinancingfund.blogspot.com/2025/11/psle-english-past-oral-topics.html?m=1
Some observations:
1) Shift from self to social trends
- 2024 (how should people behave when using public spaces)
- 2025 (are Singaporeans orderly)
2) Might be worthwhile looking at past year Normal Tech oral questions. They appear several years later for PSLE. Three examples:
- NT Oral 2015 (Tell me about a live performance you have seen or heard) -> PSLE 2020 (Tell me about a performance you once watched)
- NT 2017 (Tell me about any interesting places you have visited, either locally or overseas) -> PSLE 2023 (Tell me about a place of interest in Singapore that you have visited or would like to visit)
- NT 2018 (Should young people learn how to cook at school? Why or why not) -> a similar question appeared for PSLE 2025
3) Don’t dismiss a topic just because it appeared for Day 1
- 2024 Day 1 asked about spending time *outdoors*, 2024 Day 2 asked about spending time *with the elderly*
4) Something similar can come up the next year
- 2021 Day 2 asked about effective learning through listening to talks n doing projects, 2022 Day 2 asked about effective learning through using electronic devices
