Infinity Pool

Owing to my flat being a fire hazard, I took up temporary residence at a condominium.

I haven’t been habituated to my fancy surroundings yet, so I am impressed by the design and layout of my new dwelling.

I’m living in tropical Singapore where the sweltering heat beats me mercilessly every other day. I also happen to live in Yishun, in which throngs of Northerners seem to flock to Northpoint to run their errands and spend time with their families on weekends. Hot and crowded - not a good recipe for relaxation.

Yet, at my condominium, I can surface my fond memories of Naha City, Okinawa, in which I strutted the streets of Kokusai Dori with excitement. Coconut trees flanked the dynamic streets there. Here, they soothe my eyes and weary urban soul:

There’s even a fake waterfall on the premises. Geez, is this what paradise is supposed to look like?

The highlight of this condominium has got to be the Infinity Pool. Now, we are no Marina Bay Stands whose stunning architecture (and Infinity Pool) captured the imagination of a captivated global audience, but there’s something endearing and charming about being able to look at HDB flats at the edge of the Infinity Pool.

I swear I have never found HDB flats so beautiful before. The chugging noise of the MRT trains is also elevated to a rhythmic and authentic accomplishment that delights my senses.

Might as well enjoy my condo stay while it lasts.
