Q: Do you think assembly talks are effective in promoting awareness of current affairs?

T: I believe assembly talks are effective because they offer a variety of benefits.
R: One important benefit is that they can be interactive and enables two-way communication. Hence, students pick up the necessary knowledge in a light-hearted manner.
E: My principal, Mr Chan, regularly regales us with interesting current affairs news to help us broaden our horizons.
E: This reminds me of a time when a speaker from the National Parks Board enlightened us on the rainforest in Singapore. He asked us questions and many students participated enthusiastically. At the end, we gained a better understanding of environmental conservation. 
S: I suggest that schools invite speakers from all walks of life to give talks on important / pivotal issues. We students can then be empowered to make a difference.
