I’m now teaching the present continuous tense to my students, but I realise that I’m putting the cart before the horse.

In order for them to have a chance to master this tense, they must first memorise the seven personal pronouns in English.

Yesterday, I used chanting with them. But I bet the pronouns would be filtered out of their brains since their hearts weren’t in it in the first place. I can’t blame them. They are teenagers after all.

So I thought of creating a short and snappy video. This means that I had to create my text first. Thankfully, I am a motivated and passionate writer.

Here is my write-up: *Did you know that there are seven pronouns in English? Interestingly, the human mind can remember up to seven things in its working memory, so you should be able to memorise all seven pronouns.

So, how can we memorise them? The rule of three comes in handy. It’s easier to remember them when we break the pronouns down into three groups.

The first group consists of the special pronouns. I and You belong to this category.

The second group are singular pronouns. Only one person or object is being referred to. These pronouns are he, she and it.

The third group includes plural pronouns. More than one person or object is being referred to. These pronouns are we and they.

Now, take a deep breath and recall all seven pronouns as you exhale. Let’s go! I, you, he, she, it, we and they.*

I read somewhere on the FB page “AI for teachers” that one can create videos easily on the Invideo app. No harm giving it a shot. First, I downloaded the app.

After that, I inputted my magnificent text and selected the tone and feel of the video I was gunning for. Funky and upbeat were the words I used.

It helped me generate a YouTube short within minutes! The only drawback is that I had to allow it full access to my photos gallery if I wished to download the short.
