I don’t particularly aspire to climb up the corporate ladder because my dreams have always been different from the norm.

Here is what I had wanted:

To teach my unique brand of enrichment classes that allow children to pick up both English and Chinese like a sponge.

Don’t be silly. Of course, I won’t quit my current job to take a stab at this dream. Parenthood is one unpredictable beast, so in order to cope with it, I actually prioritise boring old stability in the aspects that I can exert control over.

Today taught me that I might just need to put this dream on hiatus instead of squashing it.

I extracted some vocabulary words from a book I had read aloud to the son. Decided to lock in “delicately” because this is a word Primary 4 students will acquire from their Stellar text. Wanted to throw in 小心翼翼 for good measure. Wrote a sentence that comprises “delicately” and prompted ChatGPT to translate it into Chinese and include the Chinese idiom.

Also asked ChatGPT to create a poster out of these two sentences.

Within minutes, ta-da! my first bilingual resource was not only conceptualised, but created. Sensei doesn’t do things by halves, so he went to the staff resource room to laminate his poster.
