An Unforgettable Incident

It was a scorching afternoon. I was cooking noodles for myself. A wave of exhaustion washed over me, so I decided to rest my eyes.

Before long, I fell asleep. I smelt smoke and woke up. My house was burning! Panic engulfed me. My heart pounded like a drum.

I quickly ran out of my house and called the fire station. The fire engine arrived promptly. The brave firemen fought the fire, looks of with determination etched on their faces. Relief surged through me.

After battling the fire, the firemen managed to put it out. To my relief, my house had not been burnt down. I was grateful to be alive. I would remember this unforgettable incident because I learnt how precious life is. I would definitely not nap while cooking in the future!
