I suggested exploring Punggol’s LRT system. Being a train enthusiast, the son agreed readily, so that’s how we found ourselves in Punggol one sweltering hot Saturday afternoon.
Rode the LRT train. It looked decidedly less attractive than its counterpart at Choa Chu Kang. Anyway, heaved a sigh of relief that the roundabout trip was over before I knew it.
Made the pilgrimage to Punggol Regional Library. Took me forever to locate it. But I guess it was worth it. I was quite captivated by the automated book sorting system. Took a photo of it because it was novel to me. Hadn’t come across it in any other library.
Had lunch at One Punggol Hawker Centre, which boasted interesting views of LRT trains going about their business. The hawker centre offered breathing space - Yishun is just teeming with people.
Queued up to receive balloon sculptures at the hawker centre. Son chose a fishing rod to convey his sudden burgeoning interest in fishing. Daughter unexpectedly chose red (instead of her favourite pink!) because she wanted a crab.
It was an interesting day out, but I don’t think I would return any time soon. So far!
