10 Maxims Of A Publish0x Author

1) Set Earning Goals

I write with the end in mind as I aim to make a withdrawal whenever I reach $5 for AMPL tokens. This helps me dissociate the success of an article from the tips it generates because every article contributes towards my goal. Each article is but a small cog in my repertoire of articles.

2) Blog Every Day

This compels me to flesh fleeting ideas out into decent (or at least half-decent) journal entries. I have learnt to seize an idea by its tail and not dismiss it, thinking that it is too ridiculous/far-fetched/juvenile. Some of my wild and wacky ideas actually turn out to be better-performing articles.

3) Detach My Ego From My Articles

My articles have generated anything from one cent (yes, you read that right!) to more than 5 dollars. But through the highs and lows, I’m still the same writer who attempts to write instructive pieces in a hilarious way (if my sense of humor resonates with you, heh). Hence, I should focus on the act of writing instead of worrying about the response it will receive.

4) Think If An Idea Will Generate 2000 Views

After blogging here for some time, I realize that it usually takes about 2,000 views for the tips to reach USD$1. Now, I know I just said for point 3 that I do not write to please a crowd, but when I get 4-5 lower-performing articles consecutively in a row, somehow I will get fired up and want to write something that proves that I still got it. So a consideration that helps me decide on my article is “Will this article have enough substance such that it will attract 2000 views?” If so, I will start typing away at my laptop. I may be able to cast my ego aside, but my competitive streak still remains.

5) Respond To Readers' Comments

Not only is responding to readers' comments polite, but sometimes I learn something new from their comments. Which could lead to ideas for subsequent exciting articles.

6) Inject Creativity Into My Thinking

It’s tempting to spend all my leisure time reading up on crypto news so that I can write sharp and shrewd Publish0x articles. Nonetheless, I think it’s important to immerse myself in other interests so that I approach writing with a fresh perspective. Sometimes, inspiration strikes me and I can combine two seemingly unrelated topics together. This spices up my work at Publish0x!

7) Don’t Let Perfection Be The Enemy Of The Good

Usually, I set myself a time limit - about 45 to 60 minutes - in which I concentrate my brain power and wicked sense of humour to pen an article. As the countdown approaches, I can feel myself getting increasingly stressed out but I make it a point to press the Publish button once the time limit is up. I think the feeling of accomplishment supersedes the ideal of perfection. Anyway, if I do miss out something glaring, I can always edit it later.

8) Save Ideas As Drafts

My wife calls me a chihuahua. As much as I don’t like this label, I have to admit that she has a point. I’m always sniffing for the next great scent, which means that I am quick to move on to new ventures - and leave old ones incomplete. This is why I have taken to storing my ideas as drafts here on Publish0x. I swear these drafts mock me whenever I spend time here; I feel motivated to get off the adrenaline ride and complete all these incomplete articles!

9) Experiment With New Styles

Sometimes I adopt a more academic tone for my fact-finding articles. Other times, when I am narrating stories from my household, I employ a more relaxed and what-I-like-to-think-is-funny tone. I like how Publish0x makes it conducive for me to explore (and indulge in!) different sides of my personality.

10) Have Fun

Which is why all Writers write. Including me.
