SOL Mates

By DeeCentralized | DeeCentralized | 6 Jun 2022

Much like the universe, the Cryptoverse is ever-expanding. While blockchain is still in it's infancy, the competition amongst protocols are already intense. Scalability, transaction speed, cost, and sustainability are issues that all blockchains must improve upon to be successful. Early projects, like Ethereum, could be left behind as new protocols improve upon early blockchain consensus algorithms and solve these common issues. Though early users of the original proof of stake protocol may be loyal, newer projects, like Solana, could easily sway their opinion when you take a look at their stats.

Solana is quick, scalable, and cheap, providing the opportunity for dApp development to thrive. With Proof of Stake (PoS), Solana incorporated their own consensus mechanism, Proof of History (PoH) into their blockchain. Their consensus gives their protocol the ability to process a block in 400 milliseconds, complete upwards of 65,000 transactions per second, all while keeping fees at a fraction, of a fraction, of a penny.

SOL reached it's all time high on 11/6/2021 with a price of $260.06 USD. It reached it's all time low on 5/11/2020 with a price of $0.5052 USD. As of 6/5/2022, it is trading at a price of $39.54 USD. Consult a financial expert and do your own research prior to making any financial investments. If you want to know more about Solana, check out their website and white paper.
