Dark night

3 AM

3 AM Knows Everything

There's a version of you that only exists at 3 AM.

The one who remembers everything. The conversation from six years ago. The thing you should have said. The thing you said and wish you hadn't. That person you lost. That version of yourself you buried somewhere along the way.

Daytime you is busy. Distracted. Functional.

But 3 AM you sits in the dark and just — knows.

Knows what's missing. Knows what hurts. Knows exactly which door inside you is still cracked open, letting the cold in.

I used to fight it. Tried to sleep through it, drink through it, scroll through it.

Now I just let it happen. I make coffee. I sit with it. I let 3 AM say what it needs to say.

It's not comfortable. But it's honest.

And honestly? Some of my best thinking happened in the dark, alone, when the rest of the world was asleep and there was nothing left to pretend.

3 AM doesn't lie.

That's the thing about silence. It has nothing to prove.
