With some more reassuring communication from the Fed, volatility in traditional markets remains and continues to go to very low levels. Equities continue to rise. The S&P, now decidedly above $4,000, rose another 0.5% yesterday. The Nasdaq and Dow continue to rise as well. Gold finally bounced back, rising over 1% yesterday.
While the USD retreats lower, crypto is also rising. In a more complacent environment, BTC is gaining but alts are outperforming.
BTC is up about 3.3% on the session, back at around 58K. The BTC Dominance on the other hand, retraced on yesterday’s move up; we’re now back at 56.5.
ETH gained almost 6% on the day. XTZ almost rose over 11%. DOT, ADA and LINK all rose about 5%.
Away from pure price action there’s, as always, plenty of news to look:
StateStreet, the second oldest bank in the US will start trading cryptocurrencies by the middle of this year. For anybody in the space, this has been a long time coming but the significance of such a move cannot be overstated.
It was also interesting to see that in Eastern Europe, Ukrainian officials own about $2.67 billion in Bitcoin, suggesting that governments have probably been looking at -and allocating to- BTC for a while.
Lastly, here in HK, Meitu decided to buy another $10million in BTC, to complete its treasury allocation plan. Thanks for supporting us higher !
Oh, by the way, yesterday I mentioned EQO, EQUOS’s exchange token, started trading. Since it wasn’t issued as a typical coin, it was fascinating to see that holders clearly didn’t want to part with any of their token. Right now the order book is bid at $0.50 while while sellers are decidedly above $0.55.
