"Waiting for an altcoin to recapture its all-time high can leave you out of the game."

You log onto Twitter, Telegram, any social network, and you see:

"Bitcoin reached a new all-time high, are altcoins going to break through too?"

"Solana hasn't recaptured its all-time high yet, I'd better wait."

"This altcoin is far from its all-time high, I'll sell when it gets there."

Everyone's looking at the same thing: the all-time high. As if that number were the mandatory goal.

But there's a mistake there. And it hurts because it's one of the most costly mistakes.

- ​​The problem isn't the all-time high, it's the waiting.

When Bitcoin reaches a new all-time high, it starts absorbing liquidity from the market. That's normal. But many people interpret that as:

"If Bitcoin has already broken through, now it's the altcoins' turn to break their all-time highs too."

And they wait.

They wait months. They wait years. They see their altcoin rise 200%, 300%, but they don't sell because "it hasn't reached its all-time high yet."

And when the market turns, they see that 300% shrink to 50%, to 20%, sometimes even to losses.

The result?
Vanishing profit. Missed opportunity. And it's not the market's fault. It's the obsession with the all-time high.

- ​​The math that few apply.

Bitcoin can rise from 60k to 120k and reach a new all-time high. That's a 100% profit.

Solana, in the same period, can rise from 20 to 80. That's a 300% profit.
But its all-time high is 260. It never reached it. It never needed to.

Where did you make more?
In Solana. Because your account doesn't eat all-time highs, it eats percentages.

The person who sold at 80 made 300% and left happy.
The person who waited until 260 to sell is still waiting.

- ​​Why does this happen?

The human mind needs reference points. And the all-time high is the easiest reference: "it was here before, it can return here."

But the market doesn't work that way. Liquidity isn't always enough for all coins to return to their all-time highs.
And even if they don't, they can give you much better returns than Bitcoin in the same amount of time.

The trick is to stop asking "Will it reach its all-time high?"
and start asking "Is this percentage already higher than what Bitcoin could give me?"

If the answer is yes, sell. Even if it's 50% away from the all-time high.

It might not reach its all-time high. But it might give you 300% while Bitcoin gives you 100%.

And that, in our account, is the only thing that matters.

The next time an altcoin goes up, ask yourself:

• Has it already given me more than Bitcoin would in the same amount of time?
• Am I waiting for a specific number or am I looking for profitability?
• Am I going to let the all-time high take away what I've already gained?

The all-time high is an old snapshot. The percentage is your reality today.

Learn to measure in percentages and you'll stop waiting for ghosts. You'll sell when it makes sense, not when a screen tells you, "Look, it was here before."
