Jim Cramer believes that spot ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will soon find success, following the record-breaking performance of spot bitcoin ETFs.
Jim Cramer, host of Mad Money on CNBC, believes that spot ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are “about to take off.” He cited the huge success of spot bitcoin ETFs, which set several records this week, as the reason behind his statement.

Jim Cramer on Ethereum Spot ETFs
Mad Money host Jim Cramer weighed in on bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and ethereum spot ETF prospects on social media platform X on Wednesday. Cramer is a former hedge fund manager who co-founded Thestreet.com, a financial news and literacy website, he wrote:
Looking at the success of bitcoin ETFs, it is quite clear that ethereum ETFs will soon take off.
Cramer's remarks came as 10 new spot bitcoin ETFs broke their inflow and trading volume records on Wednesday. Their net inflows totaled $673.4 million, beating the $655.2 million inflow record set on Jan. 11, the first day of trading for the 10 funds.
Blackrock's Ishares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) alone raised $612.1 million, breaking its personal record of $520.2 million set the previous day. Several applications for ethereum spot ETFs are currently pending from the SEC. The securities regulator is expected to deliver a decision in May.
Although some parties, including Standard Chartered Bank, believe that the SEC will give approval, there are still doubts as SEC Chairman Gary Gensler remains silent on whether he classifies ether as a security or commodity.
Cramer has a history of inaccurate predictions about bitcoin, leading to a popular meme in the crypto world known as the “reverse Cramer effect.” This phenomenon shows that bitcoin prices often move contrary to Cramer's predictions: if he is bearish, it may be a bullish sign for bitcoin, and vice versa. In January, the Mad Money host cast doubt on bitcoin's ability to find its footing, warning of a "bad start" to the BTC selloff. The Mad Money host's optimistic comments about the potential of an ethereum ETF have generated a wave of mild and skeptical responses.
