I was on medical leave yesterday but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it meant that I had time on my hands to join the Monday Meme competition organised by Stacker News.
So, first I created a meme on imgflip.com.
Then, I posted it on Twitter. I copied and pasted the link of my meme on Stacker News but for some inexplicable reason, my meme wouldn’t show up. Nonetheless, I remained resolute and didn’t want to give up just like that. Luck favours the determined and I came across https://postimages.org.
It seemed to be a website that could host my image. Therefore, I uploaded it there. I didn’t even know what Markdown meant but since it appeared to be the only way in which I could make my meme appear on Stacker News, I copied and pasted that link.
Success! I officially joined the competition.
Probably not going to win the competition with this done-to-death picture but the whole process of creating the meme then posting it on postimages.org and taking down the markdown URL made me feel that I have learnt so much tonight! Successfully posting my meme is an exhilarating accomplishment in itself.
