If you have been following my articles, you wouldn’t be surprised to learn that I have been a regular, even compulsive, user of r/cryptocurrency. It is a subreddit on Reddit that dishes out Moons every month. Each Moon is about 7-8 cents and is a welcomed addition to my diaperfinancingfund. When you are a father of two and don’t have much time to do side hustles, shitposting (as is affectionately known over there) becomes a viable source of chump change.

Now that I set the context straight, you should also know that R/Cryptocurrency organises a Kahoot! quiz once every month. It is way past my bedtime but thanks to 2nd January being a public holiday this year, I stayed up late just so that I could be one of the lucky ones to participate in this exclusive quiz. 

Of course, the organisers offered Moons as prizes, which explains my enthusiasm for the quiz. But more importantly, I assumed that it was a quiz catered to crypto topics. I was keen to see how I stood in regards to other users when it came to demonstrating my level of knowledge for crypto.

So yes I stayed up past my bedtime because I wanted to attempt this quiz. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that my heart was pounding with excitement when I saw that I had registered successfully for the quiz.

I waited for what seemed like eternity for the quiz to get started. Finally, this quiz commenced!

This was when I became slightly disappointed because I realised that this month’s edition was devoted to animals. Here is an example of a question.

I could not pit my crypto proficiency against other users. So sad! I mean, animals are fascinating and all but this was a crypto forum. To have a quiz on animals seemed quite anti-climatic, I thought. 

But of course, since I stayed up late for this, I didn’t want to just log off from the quiz. No matter what, it was a feat to get onboard the quiz in the first place. Places were limited and coveted - and did I say that Moons were ready for the ripening?

I was a Science teacher in a previous life but didn’t know the answers to many of the questions. Nevertheless, I found the questions interesting. Take this for instance.

The answer is “fingernails” by the way. I tried my best but could only manage 11th place in the end. Suffice it to say that I did not win any moons. Probably wouldn’t join in other editions of the quiz again (because sleep trumps all) but it felt good to try something new in 2023!

Stayed up past my bedtime to take part in the Cryptocurrency Kahoot Trivia quiz for the first time. The quiz was on animals. I was a Science teacher in a previous life but got many of the 15 questions wrong. Did well enough to only be in the 11th place smh 🤦 but had fun and was happy that now I can say “been there, done that”!
