For HODL veterans, which is worse, FTX or Mt. Gox?

The FTX contagion continues as it is not just SBF and his team who misappropriated funds, but also other big players in the crypto space who had their funds locked up with FTX. A prime example is Genesis, which has $175 million in locked funds with FTX. Genesis just recently admitted that they lacked the ability to reopen withdrawals for Gemini Earn’s customers. Is a bankruptcy imminent and inevitable? Your guess is as good as mine.

The collapse of FTX and its clients like shooting ducks in a range hogs the headlines and bombards our consciousness - to the extent that many of us has overexposure fatigue. This is my first bear market so I don’t have any point of comparison. For the crypto veterans among you, how does this event compare to the time when Mt. Gox collapsed in 2013? Which one felt more like Armageddon? According to a CNBC survey, 8% of Americans currently view cryptocurrencies positively, a drop from the 19% derived from a similar survey in March? Has FTX dealt a fatal blow to this nascent industry?
