We know better by now not to trust what YouTube and TikTok influencers shill on their platforms. If the example of FTX is anything to go by, some crypto companies pay these influencers handsomely to promote their services. As such, when these companies fall by the wayside, these influencers make inconsequential apologies that won’t bring back your money. The less morally upright ones even go as far to delete their shilling videos. They are devoid of shame.

If we cannot trust social media figures, then we will have to fall back on authoritative sources of printed materials. “The Bitcoin Standard” is said to be a must-read for people interested to learn more about Bitcoin. Do you have any other book recommendations?

Personally, I quite enjoyed reading “The Infinite Machine” by Camila Russo. I thought that Camila Russo left no stone unturned as she detailed the life stories of Vitalik Buterin and the other seven co-founders to shed light on why they were motivated to develop ETH. It’s a compelling story about a band of brothers who got together, united in their vision and determined in their efforts to bring it to fruition, including registering their company in Switzerland to best navigate regulatory laws. For those of you who are interested to know how Vitalik recognised the need to pivot ETH to function on a Proof of Stake protocol and was arguably the driving force behind the Merge, this book will give you insights on his state of mind then. If you hold ADA and/or DOT, you would also understand the impetus behind Charles Hoskinson and Gavin Wood’s departure from ETH to work on their projects which were named Cardano and Polkadot respectively.
