I am a successful teacher who makes a difference in my school.
Though this musing isn’t going in the direction you expect. The other day, an ex-colleague mentioned in passing that he was still using the Milieu app. Milieu, for the uninitiated, is an app that lets you accumulate points for doing surveys and quizzes and redeeming them for vouchers and cash. The context is that my time at the primary school might be short, but I steadfastly cajoled my colleagues - one after another - to use my referral code so as to top up my #diaperfinancingfund.
It’s very gratifying to know that he still uses Milieu regularly!
But wait, this story gets better. He continued, “Now, I am using this app called Sweatcoin but I don’t know what to do with the points.”
My very cool response was to show him the Sweatcoin app on my phone and clarify its features. I then provided value-added service by opening up my sMiles app and showing him how to transfer the sats (as in bite-sized Bitcoin) I derived from my daily steps to my Lightning Network wallet. Although Bitcoin may be crashing violently, I am gaining these sats from my routine anyway. So why not? The dream is to be a whole coiner just by accumulating these sats and pass 1 BTC on to my son as an inheritance. A daddy hustler can only hope.
One week later, I followed up by sending him the Seedly article I had earlier written on sMiles: https://seedly.sg/opinions/walk-to-earn-satoshis/.
Well, these paltry sats won’t make me a millionaire soon, but at least it isn’t a scam.
Back to the original thesis of my musing. My influence extends beyond the classroom. Heh.
