Finally got some time to compile these fairly recent developments of MATIC (or should I say POL):

MATIC

1. ⁠The Bank of Italy intends to collaborate with Polygon (cheap & fast transactions) and Fireblocks (enterprise-grade security & custody solutions) to launch a pilot program for institutional DeFi.


2. ⁠Tokenized Coinbase stocks are coming to Polygon, thanks to Backed Finance (a DeFi working in the tokenization sector)


3. ⁠Mirae Asset Securities, the largest investment banking and stock brokerage company in South Korea intends to collaborate with Polygon Labs to create a tokenized securities network!


4. ⁠Grab (the Singaporean version of Uber) aims to collaborate with the Monetary Authority of Singapore to distribute NFTs on its Web 3 Polygon wallet.


5. ⁠NuBank - a Brazilian bank - is offering its cashback rewards program on Polygon.


6. ⁠Japanese electronics company Casio intends to introduce Virtual G-Shock, a blockchain-based metaverse equivalent on Polygon. So, on September 23, we can expect 15,000 G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS NFTs to be distributed globally for free via Polygon.


7. ⁠On November 2nd 2022, JPMorgan went on board Project Guardian (launched by Singapore’s central bank), executing its first ever cross border DeFi transaction through Polygon and a modified version of AAVE. This transaction involved the trading of Singapore dollar and Japanese yen.


8. ⁠Polygon has collaborated with the Indian government to issue caste certificates to facilitate the verification of education and health data.


9. ⁠In order to boost pork production, three companies in Croatia have launched the GoAgro platform, in which Croatians can buy a Pig NFT on the Polygon blockchain for 250 euros and redeem it for 100+ kg of real pork 900 days later.


10. ⁠In September 2023, Google Cloud signed up as a validator with Polygon to verify transactions. It joins an existing army of over 100 validators.


11. ⁠Polygon 2.0 was released. This marked a transition from MATIC to POL. POL was designed to empower users to validate multiple ZK-based L2 chains and fulfill various roles on these chains.
