Pi Scams

By Cryptopsycho21 | Cryptopsycho21 | 13 Aug 2020

When I checked on my Pi node today, I saw a message warning about Pi scams.  Whenever something good comes out, someone always has to ruin it.  Know what I mean? Anyway  here are the main points of their warning:

*Pi is free but currently not for sale.

*Pi (the original company) is not affiliated with any entity or person claiming to sell Pi.

*Any such sales are at your own risk and may result in financial loss or personal data.

*For information about Pi, always go to the source at minepi.com.

They also that the best way to avoid these scams is to be smart.  As always, if you want more Pi, find more people to join your earning team.  Anything that promises quick money is obviously a scam.  Remember all that fuss over the twitter hack and Musk giving away crypto?  It’s the same.

Pi was created to be a work of art that would appreciate over time.  Currently, it is valueless.  It will take time and support of the community to grow.  Then it should have value, and those of us that had the patience to wait will be rewarded.

**Pi Airdrops=scam

“Pi is not conducting any airdrops. As mentioned above, any futures or derivatives of Pi may not be backed by anything, hence you are running the risk of privacy and identity theft in this case.”- this is from their warning.

The day before I saw this, I did notice that Airbob (telegram) has an airdrop for Pi.  This one just promised 1 PT for joining their team.  I already have Pi, but I was curious where this one would lead me.  The link to download it seemed legit.  They didn’t ask for any KYC info.  However, on the airdrop page, it said, find more information “here.”  When I clicked that one, it took me to https://www.picoinwallet.com/faq.html, claiming to be the official FAQ page. Their official Pi page is https://minepi.com/faq.

Finally, for any information about Pi, always go to www.minepi.com.

All questions can be answered there.  If you come upon any suspicious activity, report it to [email protected].

If you are not a member of Pi but are interested, you can find out more at their homepage www.minepi.com. You’ll need an invite from someone to get access.  Ask your friends if they’re members.  If not, you can use my invite: cryptopsycho21.

Did you find any of the scams?  Let me know.
